About the practice

My name is KC Hespeler, and I opened my private practice, Shoreline Therapy, in April of 2024 in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.
I focus on helping those affected by stress, life transitions, trauma (including complex trauma), and depression. This list is not exhaustive - please contact me so we can talk about what would be best for your treatment.
A special clinical focus is perinatal mental health, including postpartum depression, anxiety and mood disorders. I work with parents to adapt to their new roles. I also have a special interest in working with clients who are therapists themselves, and healthcare professionals.
I individualize treatment for your specific needs. In the therapy process, my work is based in cognitive interventions, somatic processing, inner child work, and trauma focused cognitive therapy. I truly believe that our early experiences affect our growth process and current functioning. In many cases, I aim to explore these experiences collaboratively with you. We will make change based on what messages you learned/the messages you were sent vs. what you deserve - while also changing how you relate to your body (somatics) and the process of thinking.
When I am not in session, I enjoy being at the beach most of all… and also reading, walking, running, yoga, hiking, and spending time with my family.
